Chemical Elements

This song can either serve as an introduction to the chemical elements or as a method for memorizing the elements, their atomic number and symbol. Chemical elements were always difficult for me to memorize, and I hope that it can be helpful for some other struggling students.

Chemical Elements

The periodic table of all the el-ements,
The periodic table of all the el-ements,
They’re organized by protons inside,
Atomic numbers from low to high,
The pe-ri-o-dic table of elements!

Oh, hydrogen is H and its number’s 1 you see.
Then helium is He and it is number 2.
Lithium, Le is number 3.
Ber-yl-li-um, Be and 4.
Oh, boron is 5, with abbreviation B.

Next, carbon is C, atomic number 6, no tricks.
Nitrogen is 7 and we will call it N.
Oxygen’s O and it’s number 8.
Fluorine F is 9, that is great!
Oh then, neon is 10 and it is called Ne.

Oh, sodium is Na and it is e-leven.
Then, magnesium, Mg with a number of 12.
Aluminum, Al and 13.
Silicon, Si and 14.
Phosphorous is P and number 15 you’ll see!

Oh, sulfur is S, a-tomic number 16.
Then, chlorine Cl and it is number 17.
Argon Ar, and number 18.
Potassium K and 19
Calcium Ca, with a number of 20!
