I like to use this song when working on calendar skills. It will help students learn the names of the months and the number of days in each month. I recently added the first verse which reviews the number of days in a year. Feel free to cut out this verse if that is not a fact you are working on.

Days in a Year
Tune: The Farmer in the Dell
365, are the days in one year.
One more in a leap year: 366.
Oh, January’s first, 31 winter days.
February has 28 or 29.
March brings us into spring, with 31 to sing.
April days are 30. May days are 31.
The summer starts in June, with 30 days that zoom.
July has 31, there’s lots of time for fun.
August has 31, days left of summer sun.
September starts the fall, with 30 days in all.
October brings a chill, 31 days to fill.
November has 30, I heard from a birdie.
December ends the year, 31 days of cheer!
The year of fun is done; another has begun!
